Jatoba (Hymenaea courbaril) is a giant canopy tree, growing to 90 feet, native to the Amazon rainforest and parts of tropical Central America. Known as azucar huayo in the Peruvian Amazon and jatoba in Brazil, it bears paired bright green leaves, fragrant white flowers pollinated by bats, and oblong brown pods.

Jatoba has a long history of indigenous use. This liquid extract is made from jatoba bark as a traditional energizing tonic.*
