The chaga mushroom has been used for centuries as an herbal tea in Asia, Europe and North America. People have been using chaga since ancient times - it has been found at archeological sites dating as far back as 3400 BC. Known as cinder conk or black mass mushroom, chaga was even brewed by the Finnish as a stand-in for coffee when beans were not available.
